Health Plans have been conducting significant and ongoing studies on
disease and care management: regarding clinical outcomes; risk management
methodologies; cost/benefit; and general population management.
It is a continuing search, a successive approximation geared to finding
solutions that meet somewhat competing agendas. Health Plans must find
working approaches that can
- Satisfy the cost-conscious purchasers of health plan products
- Balance the challenges of practitioner autonomy and professional
competencies within rapidly changing trends in medicine and behavioral
healthcare
- Operate according to the rigorous standards of scientific
evidence--within the available resources
- Improve the health status and satisfaction of members entrusting
health plans with their well-being.
This page will report on ongoing resources, studies, and dialogues that
can contribute to the industry reflection.
